‘’With an enthusiasm and love of nature and the environment – I sketch and paint ‘en plein air‘, in all weathers – chasing storms, or an early morning sunrise – enjoying the spontaneity and challenge of the occasion. ‘ Water’ has always been a focal subject in my paintings – tempestuous seas, and rugged coastlines, languid waters or the tranquillity of a lotus pond – I strive to capture the energy and spirit of the natural wilderness in my artworks.‘’
‘’Experimenting with techniques and materials in my studio – painting in oils ,mixed-media and watercolour, I layer colours, textures and glazes, with a view to creating a richness and vitality to my canvas.‘’

British born on the Kentish Coast , Nicky studied Art in both Canterbury and London graduating with a BA (Hons) . On gaining her degree, she travelled extensively – adventuring and painting – living for many years in Australasia.
Returning to England , Nicky established a successful gallery – The Strand Gallery / Watercolour Workshop, in Deal Kent – where she also taught students watercolour painting techniques . Selected by the RI ( Royal Institute of Watercolour Artists ), she also exhibited at the prestigious Mall Galleries, in London.
Subsequent travels have seen Nicky living and painting in Arabia, Asia and South America, with a recent period of study at the China Academy of Art, Hangzhou, China.
With her love for the natural environment and wild coastal areas, Nicky is currently enjoying living and painting in New Zealand.
Nicky has exhibited Internationally – and her paintings are in both private and corporate collections Worldwide.
